High & Moderate pollution levels predicted in some areas of the UK over Easter weekend

London and southeast England are predicted to have High air pollution which may extend to other regions across the UK

 

DAQI indicators on Defra’s interactive map show that on Good Friday (April 10), continuing into Saturday (April 11) and Sunday (April 12):

 

  • Isolated High pollution levels are possible in east and southeast England, with isolated
  • Moderate pollution levels expected on Monday (April 13). Moderate pollution levels are likely for parts of England, Wales, and southern Scotland.
  • Apart from the possibility of isolated Moderate air pollution over Northwest England, the rest of the UK will see Low pollution levels.

 

Please note, the present Covid-19 nationwide restrictions may somewhat lower pollution levels indicated.

 

During high-pollution episodes particularly vulnerable groups, such as adults and children with heart or lung conditions, should follow recommendations and advice from the Daily Air Quality Index, found here: https://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/air-pollution/daqi.
